Also inspect the O-rings and connectors at both ends.

  • Every fitting is fully inserted and locked

  • No debris is trapped inside the fittings

  • The trigger moves freely

  • The gun does not leak

If possible, test the system with another compatible spray gun or nozzle. This can help isolate the faulty component.

Step 7: Check for Detergent System Problems

If pressure loss occurs only when using detergent, inspect the soap injector, detergent tube and foam cannon.

Clean the detergent pickup tube and check that the accessory’s orifice, PSI, GPM and connector size are compatible with the pressure washer.

Step 8: Inspect the Unloader Valve and Pump

If all external components are working correctly, the problem may involve the unloader valve or pump.

A sticking unloader valve can cause pressure to rise initially and then fall. Worn pump seals, valves or internal components may produce similar symptoms.

These parts should be inspected by a qualified technician. Do not adjust the unloader valve without the correct pressure gauge and manufacturer specifications.

Incorrect adjustment may damage the pump or create unsafe operating pressure.
